Michelle’s Bio

For the last 30 years I have gained valuable knowledge about the many challenges facing children, youth and families in our community. I have a particular interest in working with youth that comes from my years as a Youth & Family Counsellor. My own two children have humbled me greatly and have taught me how to best support parents, stepparents and grand parents. I am now part of the sandwich generation and know intimately the challenges of supporting grown children while they finish their education and aging parents who require more time and attention.

In addition to my private practice, I also teach at the School of Child & Youth Care at the University of Victoria. Through my role as instructor, I am in regular contact with a variety of community based agencies and programs, which is helpful when referring clients to outside resources when appropriate.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking the many trails of Vancouver Island and I enjoy travelling. I can often be found at some of the local yoga studios and walking my dog through my neighbourhood.

As a therapist, I see my role as one of coaching clients towards the changes that will bring relief and ultimately fulfillment to their lives.

Strength comes from doing…..
